I found this article somewhat interesting about a nuclear power plants unexpected shutdown.  It might explain some unexpected and intermittent problems with radio equipment.

This is a very common problem with circuit boards. We actually have circuit layouts that help pull the solder away called theiving. The damp WX in Waterford helps the problem.
We need more safe nuke power that isn't controlled by opec clowns.
