First the property ruling and now this. http://www.cnn.com/2005/LAW/06/27/scotus.commandments.ap/index.html

Slowly, every slowly, our rights and heritage are being taken from us.
First our property rights and then civil liberties, next our sovereignty.

What's next, voting to join the European Union?
One World Government?
I pledge Allegiance to Koffi Annan?
We already have "Thought Crimes" aka "Hate Crimes", how much further need we go?

"A split Supreme Court struck down Ten Commandments displays in courthouses Monday, ruling that two exhibits in Kentucky cross the line between separation of church and state because they promote a religious message.

The decision was the first of two seeking to mediate the bitter culture war over religion's place in public life. In it, the court declined to prohibit all displays in court buildings or on government property.

Justices left legal wiggle room, saying that some displays -- like their own courtroom frieze -- would be permissible if they're portrayed neutrally in order to honor the nation's legal history."

Could someone explain something to me? After the Inquirer was eliminate , whenever I posted something like this in the QSO section it was deleted. Has there been a change of policy? Or perhaps a case selective censorship?

George it is because you don't vote right.

You should be able to tell how you didn't vote right by the performance
of the guy you should have voted for. (just kidding!)

And rightly so -- the "promote a religious message" part is the operative part.  Nothing wrong with the commandments as heritage, everything wrong with the other.  That message can be promoted in all sorts of places.  But the government has no business doing it -- Right, Left, doesn't matter.

Too much of that promotion currently going on in THIS government as it is ...

I did have to smile today when I read that the new Attorney General can make a proper distinction between "breast" and "porn" and has finally removed those stupid "drapes" from the statues ..

Good thing our A.G. can tell the difference. I wouldn't want to see women walking around under tents. That would be no fun on the beach.

Must be the fault of them damn liberal Judges again Ott.

Four of the last six elections resulted in Republican presidents, and seven of the Supreme Court's nine current members were appointed by Republican presidents
