Instead of getting a series string of big electrolytics balanced with equalizing resistors and waiting for one to go bang, you can also use classic oil filled rectangular capacitors, as found in many pre-1970s amplifiers. They were also found in most broadcast transmitters with tubes. Like new ones are rare these days. I have some new and used, and they don't fail unless a terminal insulators get broken off causing oil leak. All of these are non PCB. Photos available on request.
