Other than appearance,  are there any other differences between the HT32  transmitter and the HT32B?

One change is the A and B models are set up with a 2 conductor microphone jack designed for PTT operation.

ALL of this series share the same transformer weakness in that the rectifier filament winding for the HV rectifier doesn't have sufficient insulation to withstand the rectified DC that appears on this winding.  It is common to have these short to ground ruining the transformer.

This is one set where I wouldn't operate it without switching to SS for the HV rectifier (along with a dropping resistor and I also use an inrush limiter on the primary side of the transformer).

As I recall, this is also one of the Hallicrafters design that uses the final amps to provide part of the bleed current so they aren't biased completely off even during receive and this is one of the reasons that the cooling fan should be in place.

There was the HT-32, HT-32A, HT-32B

The HT-32A added PTT, RTTY, and Phone Patch.

The HT-32B added cosmetic changes, circuit design changes, and added a 7360 tube as the balance modulator.
