I have message in red banner and cannot open it.

Refresh page.  Banner should be gone.

Refresh page does not work

If your browsers refresh page doesn't work, you have bigger problems.

I have the same effect when I get a message.

What I posted is the proper way to respond to the banner.

I went through your entire profile, permissions, and other Admin related stuff and not find anything out of the ordinary that would lock a personal message.
Can you tell who sent you the message?
If it came in under the PM (personal message) it had to be sent from an amfone member.

QUESTION:
Did this "locked message" notice come in a separate small box that states you have a new message or when trying to read a message in your INBOX?

Wrong. Page refresh works, message will not unlock

Now two unread messages in red banner at top of page. No other access.

You can go directly to your personal mail section here on AMfone.
For now, forget about these notices you're getting on the screen.

Reference (click) first picture below:
On the left of the AMfone screen, scroll down to the bottom where it says Personal Menu
Below Personal Menu, click PM

see (click) second picture below
This is your message box.
You can click on INBOX to read new mail
You can click on OUTBOX to see mail you have sent
You can click on NEW MESSAGE to generate an e-mail to someone
