Sitting here in my shack, listening to Brahms' Intermezzo in A Major, looking out the window at a dreary, rainy, autumn day; reflecting on parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles with whom I enjoyed so many Thanksgivings—now long gone. I know that sounds like a sure recipe for holiday depression, but no: I'm thankful for the memories and everything we shared. Not moping about things I wish I had or things lost, but instead giving thanks for all those things I do have: a wonderful wife, a happy retirement, and a humble yet warm home, currently filled with the aroma of the pecan pies I took out of the oven a while ago and the chicken that's roasting in there now (my wife's not a huge fan of turkey.)
   Happy Thanksgiving to all!

A hamster relaxing after several hours of playing contest radio on 20 meters. Bring on the turkey and all the trimmings! Life is good!
