Hi all:

I'd like to tap into all the knowledge here.
Tnx a bunch!!

Problem:
Getting high pitch tone every 60-65Kc ( analogue dial readout )
Only on 10, 15, and 20 meters.
Sounds exactly like a calibration tone!
Sound level varies with DRIVE control.

My cal is 25Kc.

Restoring a Kenwood 520 ( please excuse me for it not being AM )...
...I'll be putting my DX100 soon...I hear 29MHz is a good place on 10 these days.

with an antenna
with a dummy load
when you turn the calibrator on, do you get that tone
is this the way you got the 520
did you try re-seating all the connectors  to the boards
if you short the antenna terminal, do you still hear it.
have you tried another receiver, listening to the same frequency and do you hear it

Was told that it 'sounded' like a "SMPS" ( switching power supply ) issue.

THE GENT WAS 1000% CORRECT.

When computer was off....no pitch!

My coax runs close to it!!!
