Wonder if any VX-2000 users out there have tried a Heil PR-40 with it.

Feeding the PR-40 directly into the VX-2000 results in a "tick" in the audio output at about 1 sec intervals.  If I reverse the phase in the VX-1000 preamp, the "tick" slows to about once every two seconds.  It's enough to break the downward expander at every "tick".  Very odd.  It isn't RF related, isn't noise in the room.  As a point of reference, this problem does not occur with an RE-20.

The problem with the PR-40 clears up if I put another preamp (TubeMP, in this case) between it and the VX-2000, which makes me think there's somthing funky going on in the Behringer box -- but that doesn't clearly explain why it only occurs with the PR-40 and not the RE-20.
