The little R2-D2 looking tube is a neat way to build things with.  Cheesy

It is essentially a pair of 2E26's in one octal based envelope.  Sockets are a lot easier to source than those like needed for the 832 or 3E29.

It can also double as a push-pull 30W modulator with the right iron.
