Hi,
I am working on a Hallicrafters S-108.
One IF transformer was 2-3 ohms across the coils and not passing a signal, the same part in another location read 18 ohms across the coils, and the signal was passing well, so I replaced the "bad" coil with one from a junk box(different part number but 20 ohms).
I was able to basically align the radio, and it works pretty good.
The question I have is the discriminator coils read 7 ohms, but I can't find any info to be able to tell if it is good,or not.

Is there a database someplace for IF transformer information.
I drilled out the original mica cap from the bad IF transformer, and it measures 18 ohms.

If you know the target frequency of the coil. Sweep it with a rf generator and see if there is a resonant point or something akin to it. A grid dip meter would probably suffice.

I don't have a grid dip meter, while trying to align the radio, one slug is at the end of travel in the discriminator, but close to the peak, one transformer was certainly SMD in this radio, so I suspect the the discriminator as well.
