Am wondering if the guy with the "shoes" in the old picture was actually wearing slippers?

I watched the stodgy-but-interesting Lowell Thomas video and was amazed at the complexity of the tube-making equipment.  Lowell Thomas brought back my little-boy memories of my Grandpa who would come home from his job as an accountant and plunk himself down in front of his Atwater-Kent radio and listen to the WWII news.

Thanks for sharing.

My old uncle once told me....

When he grew up in the 30's and 40's, when you turned 15 your father would take you to the men's clothing store and buy you a suit. You wore that suit until it shined. If you didn't have a suit on in those days he said you were considered a bum.

It always amazed me from old pictures how men would do manual labor work in those suits.  There was a drastic line.  You were either an "overall man"  or you tried to stay in the in the white collar zone by wearing a suit.   Even bums riding the rails wore suits.

A much different time than today.   Rosie O'Donnell changed everything.   Wink

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Sam

Was it you that posted a film on the scrolling billboard in New York  or Chicago.  I have been trying to find it. To no avail. I believe it was from the 1940's.

Are you referring to the Motograph News Bulletin?

Here's something from the 30's.

That wasn't it Pete thank you though. It was a in depth video of the mechanics of this huge sign. I will find it sooner or later and post it.
