Is it just me or is 160 Meters dead?
I never seem to hear anything on that band except for some CW down at the bottom.
Maybe it's the time but usually in the afternoon and early evening when I'm listening to 75 I check the 160 rcvr. and never hear anything?

Top band 160M AWA net hosted by Larry-NE1S each Monday night at 8PM.

When tuning across the band in the evening, I hear plenty of signals.

160 meters is usually quiet until dark.  The Grey Hair Net starts at 8:30 this time of year.  We go back to 8:00 in Sept.

Just threw up a 160 meter dipole yesterday and didn't hear any AM activity in the evening. Heard some SSB signals. Threw out some CQs but no takers. Yes it was a little noisy, but doable. Managed to bag a QSO this morning on 1.885 with a station in VA, but it was a challenge. We'll keep on monitoring. Never ever give up!

I think everyone has moved down with the sunspot numbers: 630 meters is reportedly
active.
