I have quite a few sets that require a carbon mike, and it isn't always easy to get one that sounds good. Therefore I made a small circuit that substitutes a carbon mike and really sounds great. I also use it with the Phillips SFZ 395 transmitter and get fine sound reports.
The circuit starts working at a few volts only. At 4 1/2 - 6 volts and a microphone transformer (quite common) the output can be upto 80 V pp depending upon the transformer and talking close, so plenty of output.
