Hello AM Lovers,

Once Fortunato 9H1ES got the idea to try (again) AM qso's on 40 meter.
But on 40 meters it is a big problem to find a free/clean freq.
First he choose +/- 7185 khz, but there is a BC station!!

Therefore he want to use 'for now on' 7190 khz.
First only during the weekend, in the late afternoon.
Time (by us) 16:00 - +/- 17:30 hour (now Summertime).

A pity often on 40 are contest- and many ssb-stations active.
Till today I have only heard some words from Jean F6AQK on 7190.

This afternoon I got a WhatsApp from Martin PE1BIC: he is qrv!
I watch tv, bicycling, on NPO 1....
But in our livingroom I listen to 40 on the background with the Kenwood R 5000.
Connect with +/- 25 meters wire hanging from roof to trees.

I heard those stations in AM on 7190 khz:
GW8TBG, max. S 1
F6AQK, max. S 1 1/2
F1HAO, max. S 1/2? after 5 o' clock.

Perhaps my end-feeded-long wire is NOT a good ant. for 40 meters.
And I have a lot of NOISE on 40 meters.
I enjoyed there were NO ssb stations on 7190 khz this afternoon! Grin
And the band looks like 'dead'.....
In other words, on 40 meter poor conditions and less stations.

Yes I know this is not a good time to reach the USA!
But I want only inform all AM Forum readers about AM in Europa.

Thanks for reading, Wink

It's good to hear that you are making an AM presence on 7195 in Europe.
