Brrrr- it's cold in the shack! Fire up the BIG RIG

WWW
« on: July 31, 2017, 05:23:47 PM »

So...

Thanks to serendipity, and some ca$h, no less than an R-390A and an R-390 both thoroughly MOUSED
came my way last week. This is after the wildly successful acquisition of that SP-600 JX-14 that sat in a bus
for "3 years". (yeah, right, "three years").

After buzzing with the energy of success and realizing that the best week ever in Ham Radio was within
my grasp, I decided to tackle the 390s. I should add that two hulk "parts" units, another 390A and 390 came in that
deal, plus I had an unknown 390 that was heavily moused with the same lot as the MOUSED SP-600. That one had
a front panel where the aluminum was like wet graham crackers along one whole corner!

Are ya following along here?

Ok, to keep the story short and sweet, the 390A and the 390 were both made to work (we'll skip the gnawed wiring, etc.),
which really juiced me up on these units, so I decide to apply the MOUSE CLEANING SYSTEM to the remaining units, which
await re-assembly into potentially working receivers.

Pictures of parts of the saga  for your viewing pleasure.

Great luck with your acquisitions, falling in at the right time!!!   Nice results for your initial effort as well.   I have a 390A and would like to find a straight 390 some day, but like you, the price has to be "rite".    Grin

Ha ha ha! You've got one of those DESTRUCT buttons too!! Cheesy

Those are great!

Anyhow, yes that is a 100B. Being checked out, needs a PTT arrangement, along with a different
mic jack... etc.
