Matt, interesting article.

But, this is not "Ultralinear".
That refers to a connection between the screen and a tap on a transformer.
They do use the term ultralinear.
The author means to say "very linear", or "super linear" or even "hyper linear".

What is happening here is essentially a type of nested feedback in order to reduce distortion.
A hyper quick look says that the author was only looking at distortion in the LF.

It's a bit unclear if Miller comes into play early at higher frequencies, and how high, if at all.

What might be neat is to apply this idea with solid state devices, like jfets, since they cost way less than
tubes, and one could use a rather high number of output devices... also there is a coupling cap on all of the upper grids...

And the output Z of the 6 tube circuit is scary low for a tube circuit - which says that there might be
another most excellent application of this ancient nugget! Cheesy

Not sure if there is any ham radio application though.

1000 ohms to .5 ohm, yeah I can think of an application, a very low distortions modulation micro welder.  Just what's needed in every shack.

" would you check out my splatter free micro-welds please?  You'll see that they're decipherable with a laser readout.  Those Russkies will never figure this one out!"

If it has lower distortion has a useful place in AM. Looking at the White cathode follower, which the gentleman had made some improvements to, I wonder if that Akido person in the audio hobby had just copied it? The diagrams look about the same.

Show me the Akido link?

That is I think Steve Bench's site??
Don't recall seeing the improved circuit there, not sure though.
