It's that time of year again. I will be at the lovely state of the art Hara arena. I'm not sure which is worse shape the Hams or the venue. I am looking forward to the three day treasure hunt. I hope to meet a lot of new Hams. I will be in the same spot FW0924. Travel safe.

Just made the reservations and ordered the ticket today. Boss wouldn't let me have Thursday off, so 8 hrs of 2nd shift, then hit the road to Dayton from NC. Talk about Kamikaze run... wish me luck!

I'm looking forward to walking among the socially and hygienically challenged at that dump they call the Hara Arena. Seriously, I've been to Dayton many times over the years, and now my oldest son, who is also a ham, got bitten by the bug last year and will be with me again this year. Good times!

My son is going with me as well he is also a Ham KD8FVQ. I guess there is only two people from this group going. Not a large turnout, the local repeater is just abuzz with people who will be there. I am just finishing up my preparations for this journey. When I get out of work Thursday all I will have to do is go.

Dayton lost its appeal to me 3 years ago and I stopped going. It wasn't worth the time, travel, expense, and fatigue that's associated with it. Here in the metro Northeast, we have hamfests week after week after week to keep us entertained.

John:

Deerfield seems to be the big one for this group. I really need to get out to Deerfield, since I've heard that it's well worth the trip. Most guys I've talked to about it say they prefer it to Dayton.

I'll drop by your space while at Dayton.

There a few going from this site just some or not as active as others,

I'll be there, as well as  a group of AMer's that frequent 40M  in the Midwest.

Same here.

There are better local Hamfests around here than Dayton.

I guess Dayton and Fort Wayne are still the best thing we got goin in the mid west. Michigan also has a good antique radio swap in Lansing. Other than that the swaps sre dying  a slow death.
