Making AM GREAT Again!

« on: February 23, 2015, 07:31:54 PM »

Steve,

Looking athttp://www.classeradio.com/ultimate_pdm_generator.gif  and I'm looking at the negative peak limiter.   The adjustment seems to go to - 5 volts on high and low side of the pot.   Is this correct?   Seems to me I've seen a different Rev of this schematic that showed a +5 to - 5 volt range.....   Or maybe I'm nuts?

Thanks....   Went to go build something,  and this caught me in the planning stage....

Hmm...   That is a very (VERY) old schematic, and I would not recommend building it.  The physical layout is rather critical, and the circuit is very sensitive to RF.

The PWM generator used with the current day class E rigs is *much* better and SO much easier to put together.  The circuit can be found here:

http://classeradio.com/pwm_generator_rev_f.pdf   It can be used for solid state or tube designs.

There is a PWM board set available with the PWM generator board, Overload shutdown board and PWM output board.  The boards are available with all board parts as well.  The boards work together, but can also be used individually for specialized purposes.  For instance, the PWM generator can be used with virtually any PW modulator.  The overload board can be used with other types of modulators, such as class H.

I think that's the question, but wasn't 100% sure  Cheesy
