pe1mph AM from Holland

« on: November 29, 2014, 10:47:10 AM »

Hello AM Lovers,
This afternoon I could hear many AM between 29.000 - 29.100!
First I listen to some AM (talk) stations, for example:
- ?
- K1KW Chuck, 29.050, S9 +15
- K1IED Larry, 29.065, S9 +5
(Listen to the little recording I made from them)

On these freq. I heard more AM stations:
29.000, 29.035 and 29.100
But sorry I could not hear their calls clearly. Cry

Then I heard some station talking on 29.075 ofcourse in AM.
I listen and tried to get their calls and names.
After a while I tried to get a qso on that freq, so I knocked on the frontdoor...
I used my old Yeasu FT 901 DM with only 10 Watts in AM.
They heard me, this are my reports (time +/- 15.50 hours):

- AC4BV Nat, 29.075, S8
- K4WMS Will, 29.075, S8 (many fading)
- W4MOX Wayne, 29.075, S5

All stations I heard with the wire hanging from Roof to Tree.
But AC4BV I evenso heard on the INDOOR Inverted V antenna!
I made a recording, see below.

While I type this, I still can hear some AM stations on 29.075.
Time now 16.40 in the afternoon, but conditions dropping a little down.
More fading, but I still hear AM with weak to fair signals.

Net, Will and Wayne thanks for the fine qso! Cheesy

Greetings,

Good to see that Nat, AC4BV is on. He's located less than 100 km from my QTH. We've worked direct path on 10 meters in the past.

Oke Steve!
Maybe I can work you in the future?
Last days 'no long' conditions on Ten.
For example, this afternoon I hear shortly Larry? on 29.020.
But today I could not receive during a long time AM from the USA on Ten....

This past Sunday I played 10 meter AM and worked  Italy, Germany, France, Wales, and Slovenia. Might have been one or two more but can't remember. Listened yesterday morning briefly, and didn't hear much. Today I didn't get to the rig.

Oke Pete,

But conditions are last days not LONG good.
I would say; shortly good conditions on Ten....
Just I heard on 29040 VE2XK talking and I listen to him.
But only during a few time he were strong S8.
Then his signal goes fast down to S1 - 2.
The same were by a station on 27.070, but I could not copy his call/name.

Tomorrow the 5: St. Nicholas in Holland!

Good DX,
