Need to get a Hammarlund HX-50 I bought from The Slab Bacon from W3JN's QTH in MD 30-45 minutes west of Baltimore to Nearfest next weekend. Anybody making the trip? I will be there both days
Thanks

I'll work with whoever's willing to take it.

Thanks, Carl, for lightening the load and helping out Frank.

OK long shot here!!!!!!

So, I need someone from western PA or Northern KY who is going to Nearfest who would be willing to pony Frank's R390 to their home where I will arrange a pickup if Carl's, yet un-named, pony express rider will agree to also carry it from John's to the fester.

Long shot but it's worth it!

This is a perfect application for a Ham Radio Drone  Wink

We could just move stuff from place to place without any hassle!

I guess Amazon and others are experimenting with the concept and have some working prototypes.

Don't think those little helicopter drones could handle BA gear. We're stuck with the pony express approach until they come up with a Heavy Lift Vehicle!

And probably 90% of the time I'd be able to haul both items to Deerfield either myself or with Steve & Johnny. This time they're not going and although I am, it's a family trip with a small vehicle already over full. Hauling an amp, BC-348R, and Racal cover along with stuff for my parents and all the stuff for WunderBaby & Jen. If you think women require a lot of luggage, try traveling with a 22 month old!

Sorry I can't help out, guys. It's worked well in both directions previously.

Get a little trailer Todd!  As long as your taking stuff to sell, it should be a easy sell with Jen!  In fact if you tell her that, you may all go up in a U Haul Box Truck!

Have a great time and wish Martha and I could attend.

Nope, not selling anything Joe. It's all pony-express stuff, done deals. Forgot that I also have to haul back some pipe and shipping straps from a job earlier this summer and Jen is bringing along something for one of her former teachers from her mom. The teacher married a guy from VT and moved to Randolph, of all places. A little earlier and maybe I could've sold the house a lot sooner!

I consider myself pretty good at loading and packing a vehicle, be it a truck or Ford Escape, but this trip is really going to test my skills and patience.

Won't even get into the fun of unpacking and repacking half of it when we stop for the night at a hotel.... Roll Eyes

I think we have Buddly's pony express worked out but we still need to deal with Carl.

I might be taking a trip up to RI in the next several months, Carl, if that would work.
