Wonder if anyone knows.

The main tuning knobs on the Essex 28 went from the three spoke to the three spoke with a "cone" filling in the spokes. I was wondering why they made this change. Was it just easier to mold? Or did the three spoke versions break too much?

Inquiring minds want to know.

If anyone has extra 3 spoke knobs, let me know?

Tnx.

PS. anyone know what the *material* for the tuning dials was??

I think these were made of bakelite.

I have a number of these knobs with "open" spokes.

nine pieces, small knob with metal  pointer.
two pieces large knob with metal pointer.
two pieces, large knob without pointer.

was saving them in case I ever found an essex 28. what do you need?
