I also believe that the key for my JDK is an original one.  It sure has some nice patina!

Hope your able to come up with a solution and it appears you will.

If the keys for those are all the same, one of you with keys could just have one cut for a couple of bucks and send it to him. Unfortunately I don't have one.

In my neck of the woods, the blank is the issue for the turn-on key. I went to every locksmith in Springtucky & The People's Republic of Eugene. The locksmiths had to purchase in quantity.........no profit just to sell one or two keys.

Joe do you think you could take that key to the local hardware and get copies made? I would gladly pay and take my chances that they are the same.

Hi John,

I went through that exercise several years back visiting many different stores and could not find anyone to do it.  If I could I sure would have had a key made.  It was far easier for me just to buy the entire new assembly and it was affordable.

I will just take the switch out and visit the local lock smith. This locksmith in my area is a old school guy who can open a safe with no combo. $$$$$$$$$$$$$

The older the guy is, the better. Those old buzzard locksmiths have usually seen it all.

My key says Arrow H&H on it. Its the same as this one here. I would buy this and look into having a few spares made.

Ya know those elastic wrist straps that come with digital cameras and the like? I keep my key on one and loop it over the band knob. Hasn't grown legs yet and the cord wont mark the paint around the knob or interfere with it's function. Food for thought.

Why do that when you can buy an identical new switch and key assembly from Arrow Hart for about the same amount of money?

My new Airens snowblower came with pair of ignition keys, the fit of the keys into the ignition switch (very loose) leaves a lot to be desired.  First thing I did prior to using the machine was to make a chain of orange tie wraps to keep the key attached to the machine's handlebars if it ever fell out.  Would be like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack if that tiny key ever fell out into a driveway full of snow.

I guess few noticed 'NBC's post regarding Surplus Sales. I just received two Arrow Hart 81715L switches for $19 including shipping. New in sealed bag.

I just ordered two of the, from surplus sales, I am surprised that they are so inexpensive. Everything else they sell is kinda pricey.

Those keys look identical to Simplex fire alarm panel keys (older days). The finger grip is bigger but the keyway looks the same.
