The band is in good shape. The SFI is at 164 and the SSN at 163. I just spoke with Aldo, IW5EKR in his mobile and he is 59!. But I hear NO other AM signals. WTF, over?

Mid afternoon Saturday I heard fairly strong QSO but which was oddly muffled and just barely unreadable.    An hour later I switched to 15m and heard Colorado and New Mexico stations quite well, with several other joining in for extended chat.

I was shoveling ice and snow this morning. Later on 10 meters, I heard a heard few weak signals but nothing that got me excited. 15 meters didn't excite me either. So I went to 20 meters and checked into the vintage SSB net with my National NCX-5. It's now 4:45 PM. I heading down to the shack and will listen for the Far East on 10 meters.

I think the band was in FB shape yesterday too. I heard CT land coming through loud on AM well past 1900Z.

I was on late yesterday afternoon and worked a few guys west of the Mississippi. Then I went down the band and played CQ contest for awhile and worked 32 countries. Some were in Europe, 2 in Africa, and the rest in S.A. Almost all were already in darkness.
