Does anybody know how the readings on the carrier meter of an R-390 compare to the readings on a
conventional  "S" meter?
I know they are different but how?
Is there some sort of conversion chart available?
Thanks,

The 390 meter is dBuV, IIRC. Often S9 on a typical s-meter is set for 100 uV or 40 dBuV. So, 40 on the R-390 meter would be S9. Others are set for 50 uV at S9. That would be 34 on the R390 meter. Use the chart at the link below for the rest of the conversions.
