Some excerpts from the most recent ARRL Propagation Letter.

Quote
Sunspot numbers this week ran up all the way to 228, a level not
seen in the past decade since October 27 through November 1, 2003
when the daily sunspot numbers were 238, 230, 330, 293, 266 and 277.
Prior to that, on January 11, 2003 the daily sunspot number was 238.

Pete Markavage, WA2CWA of Sayreville, New Jersey reports great
conditions on 10 meters this week, but using AM and FM instead of CW
or SSB. Pete wrote, "Ten meters has been hot all week. During the
late morning hours of October 22 I worked about 25 stations, all on
AM, in a number of Eastern and Western European countries. AM power
was about 90 watts into a 4 element tri-bander. In the late
afternoon I worked a Japanese station on 10 FM direct with a 40 watt
rig. On October 24 around 6:45 PM EDT, finally worked my first
Japanese station on 10 AM.  6 meters has been dismal for openings
here in the East, but 10 meter activity is making up for it."

Kinda makes me wish I didn't get rid of my HR2510. (Don't worry, it wasn't hosed to be an illegal 11m box..) Wink I did do a lot of mods to the audio though. She sounded shcweet! Not something you'd expect Yellrx to have!

Nice to see it's still rocking with the SSN sitting at 213 on November 17th. Keep climbing and lets hope the A and K don't drift too far apart! Working a 4 -way on 10 meters this morning between Mike WZ5Q, Glenn G8NOF, and Pete WA1SOV. Very unusual to be able to all hear each other.

That was John ZF1DJ.

Every 3rd op on 10 AM is named Dave.

W2VW,

Nice signal into San Juan Island on 10-meters yesterday Dave. And thanks again for the Empire tour.

I was once told that you couldn't be a ham if your name wasn't Dave or Jim!

I had to change my name to Daniel, after going to Starbucks, ordering a coffee, and standing in line until they yelled 'coffee for Dan'.

Six guys headed for the counter .. so I now go with Daniel and all is well.

73's from San Juan Island ...

D,

Try "El Exigente".  Maybe you'll get better service.

Sunspot number hanging around 163 today. 10 and 15 meters, up and down the band, have lots of great signals. Still frustrated why 6 meters has been so void of any great openings.
