Realizing this opening isn't going to last much longer, I kept my eye on the band at sunset hoping for some dx.  Excited to hear Steve VK4VN calling CQ and more excited that he came back to me.  Deep QSB with copy varying from armchair s7 to very tough s4-5.  He was running a KW-1 about 100W carrier into a 3-el SteppIR.  I was running my ANAN-10 SDR at 300W carrier into a 3-el SteppIR  and posted some of his recorded signal at:

Congratulations. JA next.

Ha.  I wouldn't have been listening if I didn't see the posting here about JA1IFD being spotted Sunday evening.

I just organized my 10M AM log from the last 10 years.  I now realize I had worked JA1IFD during the great opening we had in mid-November 2011.  Now if we can get some activity out of South America.  Anybody out there hearing South America on 10M AM?

It's always fun to work the corners of the globe every season as things change.

I've worked 4 JA's on 10 AM but not this fall yet.

Never fear because Chuck will wake them up. He's on right now.

If they can't hear him they ain't there.

Flash: Talking with Chuck now. He's worked several JAs on AM : )
