Having 4 Heathkit dx-20's, all with bad power transformers it's time
to try something. The Triad R-16a transformer may be a possible sub.
It would be a tight fit if it fits at all. Anyone have an old one they
would like to get rid of ? Or is there a better sud ? Any and all
information would help. Thanks :

I just finished replacing a transformer in a DX-40.  If you can find an old cb amp such as a d & a 400 there are 3 usable transformers there.  With minor wiring changes I've fixed 3 similiar Heath transmitters using the 3 transformers salvaged from the otherwise useless cb amp.  Thus, a cheap fix.   Darrell KW4DE

Darrel .... you should win some special award for converting horrible technology to more elegant technology .... perhaps a gold plated fickle finger of fate (aka: the prestigious digit)
