This is probably our follow up to the New York Times article mentioned in another thread here.
Richard W3NCC could have added a lot to this story. Someone here brought up Richard a few years ago wondering where he might be, so I set out on a two evening search till I found him. He was in a sad state in his life after losing his wife but he took the time to tell me about his times with KDKA. He, as I remember he was a studio engineer responsible for their orchestra broadcasts among other things. After reading this story it made me think that a historian should have recorded him as he spoke that day.
I have no idea of his state at this point. He lives only a mile away in a senior center.
