Brrrr- it's cold in the shack! Fire up the BIG RIG

Got a couple of non-digital scopes off fleapay... one works, the other needs some help in the horizontal and vertical department, haven't tracked it down yet.  15mHz bandwidth.

The photo shows the IF out of the R-388, well it captured a section of it...

Wow, they're small !

I like the DC supply that's built in.  Those are lead acid 2V cells and they seem to last a lot longer than the newer single module types.

So it looks like you've got a running one and another for spares.  Can't quite get the brand name from the photo.

Cost - Good score?

hamfest cheap... one out of 10-20 bargains on fleapay I manage to win. Ah yes, the fishes that go away!

NLS, Non-Linear Systems

These have been around for a long time, they made various different models.
They're not Tektronix, but not half bad either.

I have a special project in mind for these, where I need a scope in a small space, with
a small CRT.

I have exactly the same unit.  They are really nice 'cause you can float them.  Nice triggering on them. Those gel cells are a much better batt than the NiCads that a lot of electronic units use.

Congrats!

I've had the same model NLS scope in my main road tool kit for over thirty years, still going, and only on the second set of gel-cells.

Really handy when you slip the little wire stand over your belt, and make it man-portable... Wink
