Hello AM Lovers,
Sorry I am a little late to put this report on the Forum.
I couldn't put it earlier, we were a few days on the camping.
Last Wednesdaymorning I heard Ken (W2DTC) on 3885 khz.
Time around 06.20 hour by me and he has a good signal!
Evenso he talks very long... hi, hi...

Two recordings I made from him, but the are very long... hi, hi.
I can sent it by 'We Transfer' when you sent me your emailadress.

Here one of the recordings, but I hear 2 stations! Cheesy
?? and then Ken.

Greetings,

Henk, pe1mph, The Netherlands

Hello AM Lovers,

Henk, pe1mph, The Netherlands

Your recording shows another example of where a guy's signal strength peaks right as he's ready to sign.  I hear this happen a lot !

Ken says "see ya," at the end, and someone says "see ya," in response.  I think that might have been Jeff W2NBC.

Sounds like most of the recording is 2NBC with DTC near the end.

Oke.
I couldn't hear, from the station before Ken, his call. Sad
But I did hear maybe Jeff W2NBC?
Perhaps he recognize his own voice on my recording... Grin

The unknow stationname (for me) is: W2NBC?
I take just a look in his 'logbook' by qrz.com.
But by 'latest contacts' I see not the call: W2DTC.
Maybe he has forget to note this.... hi, hi...
The distance beween him and me: 5904.9 km!

In his shack I see a BC 610H, during many years I had such transmitter.
I sold it and now my old BC is standing in an 'Army musea':

Nice recording Henk! Clear frequency without any QRM.
What kind of antenna were you using?

(Dutch Wink ) :  Hallo Henk, Ben benieuwd naar de gebruikte antenne op 80m. Mooie opname!

Thanks Martin!
When I made the recording I used an 'end-feeded' longwire.
I guess about 45 meters long and hanging from the roof to trees.
Between receiver & antenna an antennatuner (home-made).
Often (early mornings) I hear AM from the USA between 3870 - 3885 khz. Smiley
