SOLD - Johnson Viking Valiant II is from the K3ZRF estate.  Many of you knew Dave and how meticulous he was with his equipment.  This unit was his "on air" transmitter and has most (if not all) of the mods necessary to enhance the audio and RF circuitry and improve the PS filtering.  The front panel is in good shape and the case/chassis are clean.  The case and front panel were nicely repainted at some point.  This unit was used by Dave as the exciter for his Henry amplifier, so it was not stressed.  I was going to use this in an am setup in my shack, but just do not have the room.  I have hooked it up to a dummy load and it puts out RF no problem, but as with all old boatanchor gear, it is being sold as-is, where is.  For proper AM operation, the audio input of the transmitter must come from an external audio amplifier with around 50W output capability.  I'm looking for $400.  Because of the weight of this radio, it is not practical to ship, unfortunately, so local pickup only.
