Hi everyone,

I have an Astro 102BX rig that probably has a dead final transistor. It uses a MRF 335 and a MRF 338, but I can't find any data sheet source that has these on it. The rig mfg date is 1980, so the data sheet(s) must be way back there somewhere. I want to try some newer transistors but need to find out what the parameters are for the original ones.

Regards,

Hello Don. The MRF338 per Moto was replaced by and equivalent to the MRF393. This device is in the so called GEMINI package as it has 2- matched pair of bipolar devices that are internally Z matched. It is 100W 30-500 MHz, intended for 28V operation, 8.5-9.5 dB gain. Before I scan in this data sheet, to be sure, is this the correct package for your unit? It is in a ceramic package and has 4- input, 4- output tab leads. I have an older Moto text, but need to search.
