Need to power a HV rectifier, and looking for a smaller filament transformer than the borrowed 20A one.

An open frame 117VAC 60Hz to 5V@5A, with 10KV insulation is preferred.
The tube actually uses 6.6A, so anything up to 10A may do.
Open frame helps with the space issue (over a big potted or oil unit).

A 10A one is absolutely the biggest that may fit. The smallest footprint on the chassis is best. Height is not so important.

Center tapped is best but optional. Really need the 10KV because there will be 7KV applied to it.

Two 2.5V 10A units might work if the secondaries were put in series.

I can trade a wide variety of transformers and inductors including a similar filament units with lower voltages like 2500-5000V ones. A list of some items is attached. If you need one of the transformers there, I could trade for a fil. xfmr, which you may not need. Have a look and let me know what you have.

I also have a few plate transformers and others from TV sets, etc. that are not listed, so ask.. Note it is a bugbear to ship heavy iron.

Thank you
Patrick Jankowiak
