I was wondering if it is possible to bypass the multiplier section of the An/ART-13 generating the signal frequency needed by the pa stage with a DDS.
What level of signal is needed to drive the pa STAGE (grid of 813 tube) ?

I am going to put on my flak jacket, suit of armor and helmet before I say anything.

Should work.

Merely being logical (if that) about the issue, a few thoughts...
... the signal level will be the same as it is now... Cheesy
and that will likely be about what the tube spec sheet calls for to run the tube in class C... in turn, there is doubtless a tube before the 813 that serves the purpose of getting the signal level and power up to where it needs to be.

Even if you could swing enough voltage out of a DDS, imo, you would absolutely need to buffer it in order to protect the DDS from over voltage and transients. So depending on what that looks like, the voltage out from the DDS, you'd need either a tube follower or moderate gain tube to drive the 813.

I shall now crawl back into the cave, shut the door behind me, and hide.

Thank you.

If this an excercise in "let's do it because we can" then I am all for it. I put grappa in my espresso for no particular reason.
However, I can think of no WW2 era transmitter less in need of additional stability than the ART13. In fact most boatanchors up into the 70s were not as good. If you have one that has been wounded in the driver section perhaps a DDS synthesizer and one of the small SS "RM" series amps with a matching network might do well.
I guess it is really no different than using a softrock SDR on an R390 IF.
It OK Bear you can come out now.

Yes , the multiplier section of my unit need ovehaul, but i cannot figure Now to reacher the second multiplier stage, without dismantling the whole unit... So i was guessing if i can ad a dds generator instead of the multiplier.
