I have a Yaesu YS-500 SWR/Watt meter.  The meter covers 140 to 525 MHz.  The diodes in the RF pickup section are burned out.  The schematic only shows a block for this section and does not give a part number for the diode.

Does anyone have a sugestion for replacement diodes?

Thanks,

Likely a matched pair of germanium similar to the 1N60, 1N191, 1N270, etc. A pair of modern Schottky should work and they will have zero leakage and be well matched, 1N5711 is a common one I use everywhere in place of germanium.

Did you call Yaesu repair? The diodes in the YS2000 are 1N60s.

Why didn't I think about calling Yaesu...  I will give the 1N5711 a try and if that doesn't work I will  give Yaesu a call.

I need to order some diodes that I can use in broken watt meters and other RF projects.  The 1N5711 looks like a good candidate.

Thanks,

I haven't called them recently but in the past they were very helpful. I was asking for info and parts on much older radios, FT101 and FT102.
