I would like to introduce one of the newest US Marines,

PVT Mullin, Shawn P.

Graduated MCRD Paris Island SC 4-Jan-13.

Words can not describe the pride I had watching him march across the parade deck in his class A's.
Glad I video taped it, cause they must have kicked up some dust that got in my eyes, made em water a bit (well that's what I told my wife anyway).

Congratulations to your son.

My father was a Marine, and he held the Purple Heart because he was shot on Guadalcanal. I asked him once why the Marines were so different, and he told me "Marines are the 'or else' part of the government. When (then Presidnet) Lyndon Johnson calls someone and says 'Do it my way, or else', everyone knows what he means. He doesn't even have to say it: everyone knows he means 'Or else I sent the Marines!'"

Congratulations to you and your wife Ed, for raising a fine son. There is no greater calling than to serve your country and fellow Americans. Please thank him for choosing to serve.

Congratulations to your son for making a good choice about serving his country.  In addition, congrats to you and your wife for raising a son that such values were instilled to make such decisions.
