Don was quite strapping at times up into Connecticut this evening. He was running the Gates BC-1T transmitter into the quarter wave vertical with a new open wire feedline system. At one point Don's signal reached 20 dB over S-9 and pretty much quieted the static crashes that were present. Listen to the audio on Don's signal. It's loud, smooth, and it punches through beautifully. Just before speaking with Don I had a short QSO with Joe N1VIV who is also located in Connecticut but we were not hearing each other too well due to the somewhat long band conditions. I'm not exactly sure what the band was up to, but there was definitely activity there on this Saturday night.

(Note: The receiver bandwidth was set to 9 KHz in the recording and the synchronous detector was being used.)

One thing I'm certain of is that there is too much certainty in the world.
