About 15 minutes ago while sitting on 29010, a very faint "CQ" appeared
to come from the speaker of the old TS440...   Just barely above the band
noise was KA1BWO who I thought was in our upper north-east but in looking
him up see he is in Preston, ID...   The band was trying but no cigar...
Better luck next time, Joe...

29xxx AM.

Yastididy afternoon I5KAP was doing his thing. I dumped the amp and screwed a Narda attenuator inline. Dialed my non-descript ricebox down to .5 watts carrier and called Franco. Got him on the first call.

This band is extremely hot. Euro to North Amerika opening lasted almost 7 hours.

Talked with Joe Ka1BWO in Idaho way after dark.

The only guys I can't work are the SKs.
