How do you attach a link coupled output to coax? I've saw two methods, one where just the coil is attached to the center and shield of the coax, then another where center of the coax is connected to one ed and the other end is connected to a variable cap to ground

I've seen both, done the first. The second give you another adjustment to make a good match.
