Well, she is on the air! BC-610E SN. 826! 450 watts CW/300+ AM in to a 50 ohm
load. A solid QSO with Dave, N9WQ this morning on 75m 3885 with no sparks, arcs
or farts...wow!

SO, here was the solution, no diff than any other of my link-coupled
transmitters: Put a small 40-500 pF air variable in series to ground
with the link. The link is fully meshed, but for 75m, using about 300 pF of the
cap. My control is on the left side of the rig. For 160m, I'll add a 400 pF fixed cap
in parallel with the variable...

Always buiilding & fixing stuff. Current station is a "Old Buzzard" KW, running a pair of Taylor T-200's modulated by Taylor 203Z's; Johnson 500 / SX-101A; Globe King 400B / BC-1004; and Finally, BC-610 with SX28  CU 160m morn & 75m wkends.

I'm going to have to get going on my E model, after I figure out what I need I can sell the excess along with the I model that I got as part of the package.

What's that extra meter in the top center? If you don't have a suitable old style meter to replace it let me know the range, I've got a pile of meters that would match better.

Nice setup!

The meter above the original meters is a volt meter to monitor
the B+. Someone installed it before I got the rig. I need to look
through my collection of smaller meters (1 1/2") for a voltmeter
that goes up to 5KV. This one is a 0-50 vdc with a string of HV
dropping resistors in series..
Obviously that is ok too, I just wanna find a round, black one!

Good luck on your 610, this one took a good 3 months to get it
going but in Michigan, we don't do much indoors in the summer!

I'm on the road at the moment but I'll be home by the weekend. I'll take a look at what I have in that range that would look good, in case you don't find a suitable one there. I have WAY too many meters!

Very cool Jeff, well, my next steps include setting it up on 40 and 160m. To do so, I need to
go through the "tuning units" for each of those bands, get a 40m coil and add additional
"C" to that output cap.
Not as bad as it sounds. Additionally, I've acquired a Meissner SS with the 160m output!
This way, I can drift all over the band with ease! Actually, I tested the SS for a bit Monday
eve and found the thing to be quite stable. SO...little steps.
Who knows, maybe I'll get rid of all my stuff and just have a BC610 and SX28? (probably not though my XYL would love it if I did... Smiley
Well, I'm glad anytime I can put it on the air and not blow fuses...
