Just wondering the thoughts out there on
driving a BC-610 with a Signal Shifter (band switching version)...
Rather than injecting the VFO signal at the XTAL input,
how about pulling the 6L6 and dumping the VFO sig through the
6L6 tube socket (using a 100 pF coupling cap to block the
DC...)
Anyone done this before?

Hi Steve,
No reason why the Signal Shifter should not work well driving an earlier stage on the BC-610. Keep in mind the Signal Shifter's earned the nickname Signal Drifter for good reason. Some are really quite bad in the drift department and others not so bad. I have a couple of them around here but never examined all the reasons why the beast drifts. I am sure things could be improved once the analysis was done. Its a neat classic beast and good luck with mating it up to your BC-610E. I have a 610E and its a great classic rig!
