I just came across a fellow on e-bay who's selling Ashtabula Bill's gear, so far it looks as if he has a Hammarlund 170, and a Shawnee. I've never had the chance to catch Bill on the air, but I know he was a legend, and I figured that a lot of the fellows here who knew him might want to keep his gear on the air. Below is a link to the Hammarlund, just check the sellers other items.

And a note from his wife:
Ashtabula Bill was born on Apr 8 1925 and passed away on Sept 27 2011. He was one of the AM legends of Ham Radio. He qualified for his first license at the age of 15 (1941) in Youngstown OH. He served in the US Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945 as a co-pilot in a B-24 Bomber. He was on the air constantly from then on from various locations and since 1964 til 3 weeks before his passing, from his location in Sheffield Twp, Ashtabula County OH. He was a great proponent of AM transmission mode and was sure that "real radios glow in the dark" He homebrewed a lot of his transmitters and was the voice heard "round the world". As his family, we were amazed and truly thankful for the many messages of sympathy and tribute to him that appeared on line and through cards and letters and phone calls at the time of his passing. One of his last wishes was that his equipment would continue to be used by those who would appreciate and enjoy it. We will miss him always, 88's to our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  --XYL Sylvia
