I need a replacement power cord for an A600 type Transoceanic radio. This cord is non-polarized with a right angle plug.
I've looked in all the usual places; AES, RadioDaze, Mouser etc. I've done a google search with no results.
I did find cords with straight plugs and may have to settle for that.

Anyone know if anyone is supplying these cords, still?

Thanks in advance,
Ed

What type of cord is it??  I'm thinking you are referring to the old cheater cords that were used for TV's.  They did make them with the right angle pin plug that went into the set.

Let me know, I may have one that is right angle.

Hi Fred,
Thanks for the reply. The cord I need has a regular two blade plug for plugging into a wall outlet. The distinguishing feature is that the plug blades are at 90 degrees to the length of the cord.

Thanks,
Ed

Since I have several TO's I know what you mean however a photo of the radio would be well worth it to others.

Is your model the one with a cord reel internal and the male plug goes into it's own socket to transfer the set to battery operation?

Thank you Carl and TFO for your replies. I would have responded sooner but it was end of Fed Gov fiscal quarter at my work.

Carl, I don't have my dig. camera at this time but for those that are not familiar, this a Zenith Transoceanic vacuum tube radio made from the late 40's to early 60's.

TFO, yes, it is the type of cord that winds onto a spring loaded reel.

In general, it is an 18/2 cord about 6 ft long. Nothing special except the non-polarized right angle plug.

Ed,

I looked through all my two wire cords, well over 100,  not one with a right angle plug.  I have seen that type plug but can't remember where.  I do have one round rubber cord with a right angle plug but it goes with a piece of equipment.  You need just a plain two wire cord most likely a black one.  I'll keep looking.

Thank you very much, Fred. But don't spend too much time on it.

Some AC muffin fans use a right angle plug:

What Ed needs is the male end that fits into a regular wall receptacle, but really small and at 90 degrees to the cord.
