Lots of Spanish stations on channel 9. Guess they are confused about the bandplan.

Looks like just another Saturday morning here Dave. Got "Slam Dunk" and "Mr. No Competition" here in "The Ghetto". Beautiful audio with very clean spurs and artifacts out to about 50 kc either side of carrier. "Yeah, that's the way we do it we put some Pine Sol on it!" I love the sound of the signal that comes crunching in at 37 seconds when "The 704" shows up. Caw Mawn!!!

Dave,

I've been having trouble hearing 10M signals lately too.   But there may be an explanation.

Listen to what the 709 Antenna Man has to say. This is concrete scientific proof why CBers have an SWR edge.

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Now, he needs to present a lecture to explain antenna theory to all the Extra Class licensees who don't know how to build a half-wave coax fed dipole.

Go over to the Antennex forum and you will find many Extra Class morons (no coders most likely) who must have a side hobby on 11M.

Heck I'm not here to make fun of CB folks. There's plenty of that on other sites.

Just delivering valuable information on an adjacent band.

Eleven meters can be a good propagation indicator for 10. As for the Spanish stations, not all countries have allocated channel 9 as the emergency channel. Those stations may be in Mexico or South America.

Why is a raven like a writing desk?

They both produce a few notes, all very flat, and are almost never turned the wrong way front. Grin

Still with all this advanced science 11 is often loaded with DX activity when 10 is mostly dead.

Izit the MUF or just shear numbers of operators?
