Hi Eveyone steve here,
I have a johnson 500 with out a mod trany  :-\I need help. how do i figer the plate & transfomer resistance/impedance to work? we know the modulater 811 & final 4-400 tubes that the rig use`es But I dont know how to figer what the transfomer resistance I will need? Do I look the tubes up and match the DC ptate resistance to the trany resistance ? Please help Tnx Steve...

I have the specs for my Peter Dahl mod trany for my 500. This is what is on spec sheet.

PR) 23000 ohms P-P 2400 vct (200 - 3500 hz)  s1) 8000 ohms (2000 vdc @250 ma) 1414 vac 250 watt    $160.00 dollars in 1993

Hi D 47 thank you for the reply . What I really want to know was how do they get 23000 ohms & 8000 ohms ?
I want to use the transfomers that I have here sitting on the shelf..
