Yaesu 101 ee

I have pulled off the shelf a Yaesu 101 ee and wanted to run it on dc power. I wired the plug correctly but no voltage on the plate. The filaments light and it recieves good but like i said no power out. Also the fan doesnt work either.
Im going on a camping trip perty soon and dont have ac power avaliable so was gonna try the 101 on dc.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Dumb question but how does it work on A/C power?

The plug should be wired on + pin 2 and- on pin 10 with a jumper on pin 10 to pin 7.
Pins 5,7,12 are tied together. Pins 1,3,11 are also tied together.

To answer the question, the 101EE works on DC because it has a built-in DC-to-DC converter. Filaments are run off 12 VDC and the plate, screen, and bias are developed by the converter.One of the reasons the Japanese ham companies kicked the US ham companies' butt in the early 1970's.

Can you hear the DC-DC converter running in the transmit mode?  I don't believe it is, hence the fan not running.

I did some reading on it and some say it will have a slight hum,,,, but it doesnt,,

Put your hand over it on the back of the radio. Does it get warm at all after switching the radio on for a while? Lotta guys slapped that poor radio in their mobile and ran it balls to the wall frying the two pass transistors which only had passive cooling in the first place. This was made even worse if the radio was installed on the trans tunnel and the vehicle heat was cranked up in the winter. 

For the hive knowledge; The dc-dc converter wasn't actually built INTO the radio. It was an optional thing you could buy when you purchased the radio and it screwed to the back and a couple of wires ran inside.

It does not warm up after a while , so my guess is the transistors are Prolly bad.
Thanks for the help Guy's, I think ill try and get me a ricebox mobile radio for the trip.,
