Glad to hear that! I haven't heard him in ages, and had heard rumors of his possible demise or not doing well.

Frank,
He sounded as good as ever. Ed did admit to slowing down but he still sounds like Ed.

Bob,
One of the funniest things I ever heard on AM was Ed and Chuck (K1KW) battin it back and forth one latenight on 3.905. Ed was doing "Anus and Andy while Chuck was doing Fred Sandford. It was Anus and andy meet Sandford and Son. I laughed so hard that I actually fell out of my chair!! I only wished someone was rolling tape on them. It was beyond hilarious! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I was enjoying SWLing Ed and the others on freq.  While Ed was talking about the D104 that idiot that used to say "cookoo, cookoo" while Dave BHD was transmitting did his thing on top of Ed.  This guy NEVER has the courage to identify, of course.

Anyway it was good to hear Ed.

I wonder what you have to do to get on the list? It has been done to W2VJZ, K1DEU and now Ed. Maybe others??

Frank,
I may have heard that one late evening.  I've gotten much enjoyment with late night entertainment too from Ed and others.  Many a sleepless night, I'd turn on the bedside radio and listen in only to get a big chuckle from them.  I never fell asleep afterwards and would go to work all blurry-eyed.

Glad to hear he's still getting on the air, it's been years. Ed was the first or second person I talked with back when I got the KW-1 nearly 25 years ago. He promptly sent me a packet of info to modify the audio along with tips on bypassing the splatter filter and so on. Originally put together by Jay W5JAY, Ed had tweaked the specs a bit for the transmitter he had. I made a few changes and passed the mods on to W0YVA who used them successfully in his rebuilds. If not for Ed, I wouldn't have seen them for many more years and would've likely lost the mod transformer much sooner.

He's definitely a piece of work and always enjoyable to work or listen to. Hope to meet him one of these days.
