Just a few minutes ago on 7295 kHz AM, before being blown away by a SWBC carrier, W8VYZ -- or, more likely, his ghost -- was heard with a good signal here in Virginia.

Whoever did this did it with style, as the recording sounded very, very real.

Ashtabula Bill won't let the slopbuckets get him down... even from the "other side"...

Maybe it was real.  A long delayed echo.

Ha! If so, then I have some requests from LDE-land -- I want to hear my first AM transmission; I want to hear Jean Shepherd and K3VVG and K3ZRF and W3ZGW again; the Voice of the Purple Pumpkin might be kind of groovy; and many more!

Could be.  You are only talking a few light years here.

Could be aliens beaming back a signal they intercepted, albeit with a "message" encoded within, a la "Contact."  Grin

What would they encode on a recording of Tim on a Saturday night?
