Sangamo of nearby Springfield IL would score very poorly upon political correctness in current times with their advertising theme!  A little further away, Walter Ashe of St. Louis would have been a great place to spend some quality shopping time in the 1950s.

Great stuff, Rodger. I especially like the Sangamo ads. Imagine using that type of marketing in today's P.C. world! Someone else made caps called 'Little Chiefs'.

There's nothing like paging through old catalogs or other publications of yesteryear, imagining what it would've been like to walk into a store full of classic gear. It was cutting edge technology then, so it's probably equivalent to visiting HRO or AES today.

TNX for posting these.
