I have a couple Stancor WF-36 low level p-p plates to line transformers.

These are broadcast quality audio transformers and are knockoffs of the UTC A-26 units.

My question:

Would these transformers work as low level line to grid transformers if connected backwards?

Would they likely give as good audio response as a UTC A-12 or a LS-12 input transformer?

Obviously, the step up ratio would be less, but other than that....

Should work, except for the step-up ratio would be less.   Probably not as class B drivers, but low level audio they should work.  They would work as class AB1 drivers.

What is the plate impedance of the primary?  I assume the secondary is 500/600 ohms line output.

I probably have a real UTC A-series line to p-p grids transformer, and I know I have a LS-12 or 12X.  If the primary impedance of the Stancor is something I could use, wanna swap?

P-P primary impedance is 30K

Attached is a page from the Stancor catalog.

Yes, I'd be happy to swap.

Dave,

Check your PM box, regarding what I found in my transformer stash.

Thanks Don,

The swap will let me compare the A-11 to the WF-36 since I have two of the WF-36s.
